Fighting the Long Defeat

March 13, 2007

They are going to win. Eventually. When they're done, there will be no freedom left. They will outlaw everything they oppose. Tobacco? Outlawed. Alcohol (for drinking, not for automobile fuel)? Outlawed. Guns? Outlawed. Voicing politically incorrect thoughts? Outlawed. This web site? Outlawed. It's going to happen. Hillary and her co-religionists, of The Church of Conformity, will see to it.

They are determined to stamp out the last vestiges of individuality. You will not be allowed to dissent. You will certainly not be allowed to own the tools necessary to enforce your right to dissent.

So, what is there to do about it? Fight it. Vote against it, and its political minions. You know who they are. And as that fails, as it must, shun them. You must refuse to grant them your acceptance, your permission.

There will come a twilight of freedom; a small, hopeless, tiny remnant of free thinkers who resist the conformity and control that the Hillarys of this world will try to inflict on us. And, eventually, they will win. They will grind us into dust. But until they do, we can fight them.

Why bother? If they are inevitably going to win, and they are, why bother to resist them?

Because every year we can gain, every month, every day, every second, is time we can spend being free. And being free is worthwhile, even though we know it must come to an end.

So fight the long defeat. Put off the inevitable as long as possible. Figuritively spit in the face of the control freaks on power trips, the Hillarys, of this world. Say the one thing they can't bear to hear, "No!"
