Optimistic Pima Cotton Outlook

Our tenant's Pima cotton fields look good as defoliation time approaches. As is always the case in farming, the estimated yield is nothing more than a wild guess, so we'll just have to wait for the harvest.

New Irrigation Pipes for the Farm

New Irrigation Pipes

This past summer our tenant purchased 30 new plastic irrigation pipes and some other irrigation equipment from Rod Gosling and the good folks at West Side Pump Company of San Joaquin, California. These are 10 inch diameter, 30 foot long pipes with gates set at 30 inch intervals. They made the irrigation work much easier and more efficient.

This is a photo of Hugh Taylor, owner of Hugh's Flying Service, El Nido, California, applying Pix to our tenant's Pima cotton. Pix regulates the plants' growth, causing more of the plant energy to be put into the production of bolls.
