| September, 2006 | THE LATEST SCOOP ON YOUR FARMLAND | Volume 18, Number 3 |
That's always the trouble with the September Farmland News. There just isn't much in the way of news, at least not this September. Our tenant's Pima cotton looks about like we had expected: not very good. It never did grow much, and the slow start it had in April, along with the skimpy stand, just about guarantees that the crop will be mediocre at best. That extreme heat wave we had in July certainly didn't help, either.Prospects for Pima Prices Remain Good
Despite the likelihood that our tenant's Pima cotton yield will be poor, there is a silver lining on that cloud. The Pima price is showing great strength and so our tenant may thereby survive yet another year.
Our tenant purchased a used Marvin Triplane landplane last Spring and finally put it to work recently. Despite its great age and battered appearance, it does do its job as well as our tenant had hoped. We could show you another picture of it, but it's just as ugly and rusty as it was the last time we showed you a picture of it, in June.
