As our tenant awaits the coming cotton harvest, the price for Acala cotton is the lowest it has been since the 1960s. The U.S. Government does have programs that will allow our tenant to sell his cotton for something close to last year's price. The price of Pima extra long staple cotton is lower than last year's, but not as low as it was in 1999. Yields for both crops, of course, are the great unknowns at this time.

Our tenant found a very nice "new" old pickup truck and bought it. The old blue truck was 21 years old and was starting to literally fall apart. So although our tenant really couldn't quite afford this one, he decided he needed to buy it anyway. It's a 1992 Ford F150 with just about all the fancy features, including four wheel drive.
