Farm Crisis Still Not Addressed by Congress

As this is being written, the farm crisis resulting from extremely low farm commodity prices has still not been addressed by Congress. Lacking the information needed to plan for the current year, your tenant has decided to plant all his cotton acreage to Pima cotton. It produces satisfactory yields and brings more money per pound. Well, it has been bringing more money per pound. Due to the fact that the U.S. Government will have a big influence on the prices paid to farmers for both Acala cotton and Pima cotton, and since Congress has yet to act on a new farm bill, our tenant has no way of knowing anything about the cotton prices for the new crop. And of course the weather during April may end up preventing the growing of Pima cotton. So we'll just have to wait and see.

Exciting New Tool Used for Listing

Our tenant has used the Teicheiras' new Beeline Navigator to list his cotton fields this winter. It uses computer technology combined with signals from the Global Positioning System to drive the tractor and make extremely accurate furrows. Below is a picture of the results:

As you can see, the system requires no marks for the driver to follow. For a more detailed account, see Farm Report #7.
