December, 2002 THE LATEST SCOOP ON YOUR FARMLAND Volume 14, Number 4

Disappointing Pima Yields

Despite our tenant's use of short irrigation runs, his Pima cotton only yielded 2.75 bales per acre. His only explanation for this result was that the bad weather at planting caused an even worse stand than he thought. As we all know, one can't grow cotton on plants that don't exist!

Wheat Planted, Cotton Listed

The wheat is in and growing well. Our tenant completed all the field work, including the listing, before the heavy rains of December.

Rent Remains Unchanged

Although the results of the cotton harvest were less than expected, our tenant has managed to keep our rent at the same level as last year.
